At last....

I love hydrangeas, and we have tried (with very little success) to grow them every summer. They like mostly shady growing conditions, and wherever we would try them they would always wilt when the sun hit them. Finally we found the perfect place on the north side of our house! Next challenge---we wanted the flowers to be blue, and for that to happen you have to treat the soil with aluminum sulfate so that it gives the soil an acid base. We have tried and tried---still pink flowers. So...today when I went out to water them I was so excited to see this blue blossom!! Finally, success!! :0)

Oh so pretty. I have white ones one side of our house. They are really fun to dry.

When will you be here? I would love to see you for a few minutes if you have time. We live about 5 minutes from the Dersert Ridge area. Call me if you have a few minutes while you're here 602.908.5933

Judy, I'm incredibly jealous! I just LOVE hydrangeas. I heard they do not do well around here, but seeing that you have been successful I may change my mind about planting them in my yard. On the back side where the sun doesn't get hot though. It's really gorgeous! Congrats on your triumph.
