Just a few highlights...

Instead of writing about our trip east, I thought it would be more fun to share the highlights of our trip through pictures...
"L" loves playing with his "mega blocks" and we made lots of towers...
A little walk through the neighborhood for Papa and "L"...
A trip to the neighborhood park...
A little "son-to-father" golf advice...
We had a beautiful day at J's course for our golf "outing"...While we enjoyed a wonderful "fondue dinner" under the arbor in J & S's flower garden, "L" had his own private table complete with entertainment...The last day of our trip was very "full" and "L" was ready for bed...We had 10 incredible days filled with so many fun times, but the very best part was just being TOGETHER! Those of you that have children and grandchildren living far from you know how precious these "together" times are....we will treasure these memories until we can kiss those sweet baby cheeks again!!

Serious "Curb Appeal" issue...

Just returned home from a fabulous 10 days with J, S and L (TOO much fun)....more about that later!! But, first we have some work to do outside in the lawn!! With our house on the market we know it's important to have "curb appeal"....but, when we drove in today it looked like an abandoned property---I think we needed to have some goats in the lawn to keep it down while we were gone!! :0) This picture really doesn't do it justice---the grass is LONG!! Back soon with highlights from our trip east!!

Golf lesson....

We are having such a great time...the days are flying by!! Tomorrow we are going to Jon's course to play golf, and in keeping with my goal this summer to learn/improve/attempt to be a better golfer, Jon is going to give me a golf lesson (he has his work cut out for him!!) :0) I am excited! These pictures are from the course, it's beautiful!

Whew....

After 13 hours, 1 cancelled flight, 1 missed flight, and STRONG winds and storms in the midwest, we are here!!!! I tend to get a little "white knuckled" when there is a lot of turbulence---NOT a fan of bouncing around at 35,000 feet---and those strong winds/storms yesterday made for a very queasy stomach!!! I swear, when we were landing in both Chicago and Detroit I thought the winds were going to blow us off the runway, or tip us over, or both----SCARY!!! But the flight attendants were sitting behind us just chatting away throughout the whole experience, so I thought if they weren't concerned then I wasn't going to worry (but my stomach was another matter---very "plane sick!")
The whole experience was worth it when we came walking out of security and Landen came running to us with his arms outstretched....a grandparents greatest joy!!! He is adorable, we are having a fabulous time already.

I'm learning....

I have got my work cut out for me this summer, but I am determined to learn to play golf!! I have "played around" with learning before, never with very much success. So, I decided this is the summer! Jim and I have made two trips to the driving range so far and played a few holes each time after practicing, and I'm not too discouraged....yet!! At this stage of the game, I'm just happy if I make contact with the ball...whiffing the ball is SO embarrassing (not to mention almost throwing your back out!!) And, so far--so good! My whole family loves golf, and I really want to do this! Next week, when we are in Michigan, I will get some "professional lessons" from our "golf pro" son! (BIG plus!!) :0) (See below!!)

The weather you see in this picture is pretty typical of our spring---crummy this year!! But, we have 80's predicted starting this Friday...we're ready!!

Happy Mother's Day, Mom....

Mama, thank you for who I am,
Thank you for all the things I'm not,
Mama, I hope this makes you smile.
I hope you're happy with my life,
At peace with every choice I made
How I've changed along the way.
Cause I know you believed in all of my dreams
And I owe it all to you, Mama
Happy Mother's Day, Mom! I'm missing you so much today, but I can't say I miss you any more on Mother's Day because I miss you each and every day! I learned to be a mother from the BEST, you were an incredible role model, and for that I will always be grateful. I wish I could tell you, today, how much I love and miss you, but I think you know! I Love You, Mom...Happy Mother's Day!
("Mama" lyrics from Il Divo)

I'm trying....

Confession: Lately, I have been feeling an eensy-weensy-teensy bit "blah" about scrapbooking! :0( And, those of you that know me well know that I ADORE this hobby, and everything that goes with it!! It has really changed my life and the way I look at life! It's made me sit up and take notice of the "little" things in life. The important parts of life are so much more than birthdays, Christmas, and those other "special days" that I always photographed. Scrapbooking has caused me to notice and document the less celebrated things in my life---the things that really matter in the end!
But, for whatever reason, I have just been feeling a little burnt out and less than creative!

So...I decided it was time to take this fabulous book and read it again because it's called "The Organized & Inspired SCRAPBOOKER!" And, you know what---I am getting organized and it really does make me feel more inspired! Here's what I have done so far...

I'm actually am feeling a little more inspired...maybe I just needed a break! :0)

Lil' Golfer...

Like father...like son (golfers, that is!!) I just love these new pictures and decided this was the perfect paper to use with them--the "About A Boy" collection from Fancy Pants Designs. (I was inspired by a layout I found on Two Peas In A Bucket using this line.) In just two short weeks we are headed east and spend some time with this little guy--can't wait!!

There is nothing more fun that having a pal like your grandchild!! "R" had fun helping her Papa last weekend! (And, he only got squirted with the hose one time!!) :0)

Grandparent Breakfast....

Being a grandparent is the "BEST" experience ever, and today we had the fun of going with "A" to the "Grandparent Breakfast" at his school! We were in Spokane for the past few days for a golf tournament, so we extended our stay until this morning so we could go to the breakfast! It was so much fun to look around the gym and see all the other grandparents enjoying this special time! (Parents have to worry about backpacks, lunches, signed notes that need to go back to the teacher, library books, sharing day...etc., etc., etc!! Grandparents can just go to school and have FUN!)
"J" snapped this picture before we left---notice Miss "K" in her jammies AND her princess dress!! :0)
