Scotland....

Everything about Scotland was PERFECT....the people were so friendly and welcoming; the towns (St. Andrews and Edinburgh) were beautiful, and so "walkable;" the weather was incredible---the locals kept telling us that they "usually don't get so many sunny, dry days in a row;" the golf (according to the guys) was amazing; the food and drink was delicious; and, The British Open was the experience of a lifetime! 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



12 days and counting....

In 2009 we set "July 2013" as the year we wanted to attend The British Open---and take as many family members with us as possible.  Well....it's hard to believe that July 2013 is HERE, and our trip is just days away!

 

One of the "perks" of having our son, Jon, be a PGA professional is his access to tickets for PGA tour events.  Jim, Jeff and Jon have been able to attend all the majors---The Masters, The Ryder Cup, The Open, etc., and the only major left on their bucket list is The British Open.  The previous trips have been "guys only"....but, Sarah (Jon's wife) and I decided that we didn't want to be left home for this one, so we are going along!!  While the guys are playing golf at some great courses (including St. Andrews), Sarah and I are going to be shopping, eating, sight-seeing and exploring Scotland. 

The guys will attend the Open on Saturday and Sunday, and Sarah and I will be joining them on Sunday.  Our grandchildren have instructed us to wear "bright shirts" so they can find us in the gallery.  :0)
