Swim...Bike...Run...

Last weekend, while we were having fun with "K" and "R" at our house, their Mommy was in Boise competing in the Boise "Ironman 70.3" (swimming 1.2 miles in Lucky Peak reservoir, biking 56 miles, and running a 1/2 marathon--13.1 miles)....

The weather wasn't the greatest, lots of wind and rain, but she persevered and achieved her goal!! We are all very proud of her dedication and determination...she makes all of us want to stay healthy and fit!!! Great Job, "B"!!!

MICHIGAN....

...is M U C H too far away from where we live!!! We took a jet plane yesterday and here we are...Having lots of fun with Landen!!

A little "pampering"....

Jamie and I got pedicures on Friday and "K" joined in the fun, too!!! This little pedicure chair for little girls is adorable, and is even equipped with a DVD player so as not to be bored while getting your toenails painted!! :0) It kept her busy while we were there...and for $4--flower design included--you can't beat it!:0)

Pool time.....

Lots of sunshine and warm weather has arrived, it's perfect. Miss "K" is enjoying the afternoon in her pool today!! (Her Mommy just sent me this picture from her phone.) Last year it snowed here on June 10th, but I'm thinking Mother Nature wouldn't do that to us 2 years in a row!!!

Time goes TOO quickly....

I've been busy going through drawers and cupboards, in the mood to clean and organize....that (mood) doesn't happen nearly often enough so I have to "strike while the iron is hot!!" :0) I found some OLD pictures and it was fun to compare these two, OLD & NEW--"K" in first grade this year and her Daddy when he was in first grade..
OK...better get back to work before the mood passes!! :0)

I love you, Mom, and I miss you every day! Even though your time with me wasn't nearly long enough, the impact you had on my life is ever-lasting...you were the kind of Mom that every child wishes they had, and I was lucky enough to have YOU!

INCREDIBLE Evening....

It's late, midnight (that's late for me!!), but I just had to write about the "David Foster and Friends" concert at Mandalay Bay tonight. One word: AMAZING!!! He has been a song writer, producer for 30+ years and has collaborated with the many of the best in music! (Kenny G, Chicago, Celine Dion, Michael Buble', Josh Groban, Whitney Houston, and Earth, Wind and Fire...just to name a few.) All of the the stars that were part of the "David Foster and Friends" concert that aired on PBS earlier this year weren't there tonight, but several of them were, and they were spectacular! Charice, the little 17 year old from the Philippines, was the final performer and she was spectacular! (She was discovered by a "You Tube" video and was introduced to David Foster via Oprah!)

Such good music, I could have stayed there all night listening to them.

And, along with the fabulous singers that were part of the show, there were 3 surprise guests that just "popped" in and surprised him.....

First was Paul Anka,

Then, Donny Osmond,And, finally, CHER! I think she was actually wearing this outfit!!A fun, fun night!!! If you're a fan of David Foster music, you must go see this show, you won't be disappointed!!

A little getaway....

Jim and I are heading down to Las Vegas tomorrow morning for a long weekend, "warm-up" (meaning temperature....it's still much too cold here), and some R&R!! The highlight of the trip is this concert on Saturday night....Staying here...
Can't wait!!!

It's been a long wait....

...for these beautiful flowers to decide to bloom this spring!! March came in "like a lion" and went out "like a lion"...as did April!! May has been a bit kinder and finally these broke out of their buds, and it was worth the wait! :0) I just took these pictures right outside our front door!

Our FAVORITE kind of day...

Today was "Grandparent's Day" at "A's" school...what a special day for Nana and Papa. You already know how I feel about being grandparents (it's the BEST), so a day to celebrate and share with "A" at his school was terrific! We had a fabulous breakfast, a music program and lots of FUN!
