Turning 6....

I know I always say this, but our grandchildren are growing up way TOO quickly!! It seems like only yesterday that we were holding this little guy for the very first time---our first grandson, and now he is turning 6 years old! I love them so much at each age and think that they couldn't get any cuter or more fun, and then another year passes and they are even better than before! I guess that is the joy of "grandparent-hood"...every day is better than the one before! (Those of you that have grandchildren know exactly what I mean, and those of you that don't---just wait, it's the BEST!!) We love you, "A", and can't wait to come to your house today to help you celebrate #6!

Back to reality....

Well, the "fun in the sun" time is almost over...we are headed home in the morning! It's been fabulous---just what the doctor ordered for curing the winter blahs, but I'm really looking forward to being home!! I will have to put the flip-flops and crop pants back in the closet for a couple months but I can look forward to wearing them soon---I know we are on the downhill side of winter, surely there can't be piles and piles of snow again...can there?? But, even if there is, I will have the wonderful memories of my 2 weeks in Phoenix (minus the flu) to keep me warm! :0) We are "back to reality" tomorrow, but you know what?? Reality is a pretty darn good place to be!! Here are just a few pictures of our fun times!!

Our last weekend here (for a while)....

Jim arrived yesterday...a foggy airport at Spokane tried to spoil his fun, but it lifted and he was on his way! Yippee!! He hit the golf course bright and early this morning, he's got to take advantage of every minute while he's here!! He played at Longbow today, and since I don't have any pictures to post of my "doings" (haven't seen any new movies!) I thought I'd post a picture of the golf course. I am going to make learning to golf as one of my things to do in 2008---since Jim loves it so much I want to be able to join him!! I don't want him having all the fun!! I used to golf (occasionally) and I even have shoes, clubs, the whole 'shebang'...just never practiced enough to swing consistently without whiffing the ball (that is so embarrassing!!) :0)

A Real "Stinker!!"

We're feeling good...back to lunches out, movies and shopping....having a great time!! The "flu bug" is just an unpleasant memory!! So, we were ready to get back in the swing of things and go to another movie...the 5 we have seen so far have all been "thumbs up!" Well, we were a little desperate (actually very desperate!!)....no other movies showing that we knew we wanted to see, so we took a chance and decided to go to "Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins." BIG MISTAKE...this movie, for us, was a real stinker!! :0( It could have been funny (the actors were all great), but, for us, not so much!! Might just be us, but we had to give this movie two thumbs down!! But, on the "up" side we had lots of fun shopping today at the New River Outlet Stores in Anthem....lots of great bargains!! Jimbo arrives tomorrow...I can't wait for him to enjoy some of this fabulous sunshine, he's going to love it!!

Happy picture....

It is time to get that other (creepy and strange) picture off the top of my blog, so I'm replacing it with this picture...you know these little ones always make me happy!!!

Still feeling good (YEA) and enjoying the sunshine and having fun!! We did a little shopping at Scottsdale Fashion Square yesterday and had lunch at The Grand Lux Cafe...always a good time!! :0)

Can You Find Them?

There are 30 animals in this picture. Can you find all of them? I found this on the internet while "blog" browsing....kind of creepy/weird/interesting! (Can you tell I had some extra time on my hands!!) :0)

We are feeling better today...yipee!! I think we have crossed over to the "other side" and are almost ready to hit the ground running---you know, shopping, lunch out, movies---all that fun stuff that vacations are all about!!

"Happy Birthday" to my sweetheart....

Two of my sweethearts in this picture (wow, has "L" ever grown since this picture!!) I'm missing another special day in our lives today...this tells you what a fantastic husband I have, he's not even whining that I'm missing his birthday!! :0) (Another day to celebrate when he gets here next week... you know...better restaurants, more "shopping choices" for buying his gifts, etc.!) Last year was a "landmark birthday" for both of us...this year we can just celebrate another terrific year!! Happy birthday, babe, I love you!!!

Jean and I are s-l-o-w-l-y re-entering the world of the living...we ventured out today for lunch at California Pizza Kitchen AND a little shopping at Target---woo hoo!! (I love Target and will even get out of my "sick bed" to do a little shopping there!) :0) It's actually a little chilly here today...that's no good. But, the forecast for Sunday is 76 love it!!

Missing "My Valentine"...

I'm missing "My Valentine" today....this is our 45th Valentine's Day together...yikes, and we're only 39!! :0) While I'm here in Phoenix enjoying the beautiful sunshine, he is home (in the snow and cold) working hard....it's tax season, you know!! But, one week from today he will be winging his way south to join me in the sun for a few days--he deserves the break!! So, we will celebrate a belated Valentine's Day then (the restaurant choices are so much better here, anyway)!! I love you, Jim!

The flu bug that has been spending the week with Jean and I is very persistant and doesn't want us to have any fun at all!!! We think he's gone and then we eat something and "bingo"...there he is again! Each day is a little better than the one before, so we should be back to good as new very soon!! You know it's bad when we don't want to go to the movies, shopping or out to lunch! My friend, Linda, said that there is going to be an "APB" out on us wondering where the "Terry sisters" have gone!? She's right!

Enjoy your day and all the special Valentines in your life!

Speed bump....

This is Jean and I....feeling really crummy! It hit us Sunday night and even though we are a bit better today, we're still not up to our "normal" shop 'til you drop, lunch out, movie and more!! I guess it's good that it hit us both the same day so we don't have be be "side-tracked" any longer than necessary! Back to the couch....

Day 4, Movie 4....

Another absolutly gorgeous day here today...75 degrees!! I really wish my family and friends that I left behind in the "frozen northwest" could join me here NOW...they are all as tired of the S*** as I was!! (Well, at least most of them are...there are a few odd ones that are loving the snow---and snow days (you know who you are!!!) :0)

The movie for today was "27 Dresses"...fun "chick" flick!!!

Splurge....

75 degrees today...woo hoo, what a fabulous treat after weeks and weeks of S*** and cold!! First thing this morning we went to get pedicures (it's flip-flop weather, you know!!) Then, we spent the afternoon checking out scrapbook stores in the valley~~Scrapbooks, Etc., and Scrapbook Barn. It's always fun to see different places and "goodies!!" I got some fun class ideas from both stores.
Tonight was "movie time" again...we went to see Bucket List. It is a great movie...gotta love Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman!!
Another fun, fun day....a splurge for sure!!!

Fool's Gold....

The movie for today was Fool's Gold starring Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey...fun movie! I don't think it will win any Academy Awards, but how can you not like watching Matthew McConaughey?? :0)

It was a beautiful day here...mid 70's! We are going for pedicures tomorrow because we can actually wear flip-flops....my favorite!! Then we plan to spend the day exploring scrapbook stores around the valley, and... we have several more movies on our list...so much to do, can't waste a minute!! :0)

I'm leaving tomorrow to head south for a little sister time and sunshine...YIPEE~!~ It is snowing as I write this (but, remember....I'm not talking about the "S" word any more this winter!!!) :0) This is me with my "much older" sister! I'll get a more current picture to post when I get down there!! :0)

Just can't get enough...

It's true, I just can't get enough of this little guy!!! Luckily his Mommy and Daddy are very good about taking pictures and sending them to us, and we also do the "web cam" often, but it's just not the same! We miss him! I start to feel sorry for myself having them living so far away, and then I will talk to someone that has a grandchild in another country and I have to count my blessings! Love you L!

LOVE....

Ok, so January of over and I'm so done with snow (even though there are huge piles everyplace I look!!)...so, I'm moving on to February and LOVE!! Once you have seen a few pictures of snow they all begin to look alike, so I won't bore you with any more!! And, besides---I'm done with snow!! :0)

So, I will post things I "love"...starting today with this picture of J and A...look at those chubby little cheeks (on "A")! It's hard to believe when I look at the handsome little "almost 6" year old today, that he used to be this chubby little baby boy! One thing I don't love is how quickly he is growing up! I wish there was a magical way to keep all of our grandchildren little for just a while longer...they are all growing up way too fast!
